Here are your Week 10 Power Rankings…
1. Dodgers: This is a begrudging choice. We really don't think much of the competition they have faced (the Diamonbacks and Brad Lidge's sadly ineffective slider are hardly putting the fear of God into SportsHuman hearts right now), but they did show up the Rangers this week. The pitching (Chad Billingsley handing the game over to Jonathan Broxton every 5 games is a nice thought for Dodgers' fans) has been there. We wonder what happens to Juan Pierre when that cheater Manny Ramirez returns.
2. Red Sox: We …

WE HAVE CHANGED THE SCHEDULE OF COLUMNS:
The AwardWatch will now be posted every two weeks (on the even weeks) instead of every week. The nature of such an article, which focus on players playing consistently well, leads to considerable carryover from one week to the next, making a biweekly column more practical than a weekly one.
Ok, now that that's out of the way, on to the new AwardWatch!
NL:
MVP: Albert Pujols… It's really, REALLY close between Ibañez and Pujols. Their stats are almost identical and their teams are both in contention. Both are hitting for power and average, but Pujols …

What do the Red Sox need from David Ortiz down the stretch to make the playoffs? What will David Wright need to do for the Mets to reach the postseason? Those questions and more are the focus of this article, which will attempt to give you an idea of the SportsHuman take on what each contender will need from its players to make the postseason.
Right now, the contenders are ranked in their divisions based on who we think has the best chance of going to the playoffs.
To determine "contenders", we will use …

Welcome to the Week 9 Power Rankings. Not much has changed. Read and enjoy.
1. Yankees: Pitching and Mark Teixeira (thanks to some newfound lineup protection with the return of Alex Rodriguez) have allowed the Bombers to go on their prolonged tear. The way balls are flying out of Yankee Stadium, every game is a shootout–but they have the firepower to win most of the time. With so many fly ball hitters, the Yankees have the advantage when they play at home.
2. Red Sox: We wonder where Brad Penny will be at the …

It is the article that needs no introduction… the MLB Power Rankings have arrived. Enjoy.
1. Yankees: Pitching and Mark Teixeira (thanks to some newfound lineup protection with the return of Alex Rodriguez) have allowed the Bombers to go on their prolonged tear. They might be here to stay… in case you haven't been reading, this is their second week in a row atop our Power Rankings, and the only chink in that armor is the streaky rotation.
2. Red Sox: We wonder where Brad Penny will be at the end of the year, and …

HERE are your Power Rankings for week 7…
1. Yankees: Yeah, we hate them too, but with the help of a few well placed needles the return of Alex Rodriguez they have really turned it on and taken the lead in the AL East. The defense, especially at the corners, is just as solid as the top of the lineup, spelling trouble for the once-mighty Blue Jays, now on the outside-of-the-top-3 looking in.
2. Dodgers: They have kept winning without Manny, which really is impressive. We really have a hard time believing in that …

Well, no change this week. Sorry sports fans–R.I. and J.S. and co. continue to be great, so you will have to settle for the same selections for another week.
NL:
MVP: Raúl Ibañez… At least for now, Ibañez is outpacing even Albert Pujols with his powerful, high-average hitting. Nobody misses Pat Burrell and the Phils remain on top of the NL East largely thanks to this guy.
Cy Young: Johan Santana… Johan has been the only good thing about the otherwise awful rotation in Flushing. If anything holds him back, it will be …

Sorry, but the SportsHuman took a week off. We know you are happy to have us back–here are your AwardWatchees for Week 6
NL:
MVP: Raúl Ibañez… At least for now, Ibañez is outpacing even Albert Pujols with his powerful, high-average hitting. He has led Philadelphia on a 4-game winning streak (Pujols and Co. have dropped several games recently) and had 3 home runs on Saturday. It is rather impressive when a team has an ERA at the bottom of the league and is still a division contender; Raúl Ibañez is the …

We won't waste time with introductions. We have been away too long to spend any more of your precious time… Here are the Week 6 rankings.
1. Blue Jays: Disagree with us if you like but the Blue Jays refuse to lose these days. They are back in control of the AL East. The Jays have a winning combination of shutdown pitching on clutch hitting. Since we've been gone, the Blue Jays have won a lot of games against the Sox and Yankees, and continue to beat up on challengers to their …
